Leah A. Dill, D.O.
Texas Bariatric Specialists (TBS) is pleased to introduce Leah Dill, D.O. as one of our bariatric surgeons. Dr. Dill has performed over 4,000 minimally invasive surgical procedures and has vast experience in obesity, endoscopy, anti-reflux, and laparoscopic procedures.
Prior to her arrival, Dr. Dill completed her general surgery residency at Oklahoma State University. During her residency training, she sought out every opportunity to learn about bariatric surgery and chose bariatric surgery for her elective rotations. She has also completed two mini-fellowships, one at Duke University School of Medicine in bariatric surgery and a second sponsored by Ethicon Endosurgery. She earned her doctorate at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, and is board certified in general surgery through the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.
Dr. Dill practiced as a general surgeon for over five years before joining Texas Bariatric Specialists. She has logged thousands of hours in the operating room with Dr. Patel, the founder of Texas Bariatric Specialists, and has personally performed nearly one thousand bariatric procedures. She has used her time with Dr. Nilesh Patel to perfect her technique, duplicating the approach he has developed from over a decade of performing bariatric procedures.
In addition to her education, Dr. Dill is currently an active member of:
• The Texas Medical Association
• The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery
• The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons
• The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons
She also has been the featured expert on the CW-33 “Best Doc’s Network” and received the “Patient’s Choice Award” in both 2010 and 2011.
Dr. Dill is presently the co-director of the Heartburn Center of South Texas. She treats patients in the management of acid reflux and heartburn and is currently one of two surgeons in south Texas who is certified in the placement of the LINX Reflux Management System.
